Folding Kayak “TAIMEN”

We offer the folding kayak “TAIMEN”. Being one of the most popular folding boats among Russian kayak fans, it is produced in Russia by the Moscow military plant “SALUT”, which has 30 years of experience in kayak making.

Folding kayaks have been a proven alternative to hard-shell boats over several decades. Their construction peculiarities – a collapsible frame and a skin – give you a lot of flexibility in your travel plans. They can be easily transformed from boats up to 6 meters (19 feet) in length to one or two bags or backpacks. In today’s world, folding kayaks meet a range of requirements:

• Little storage space;
• Hassle-free in transportation in a car trunk and even plane for drop offs;
• One adult can carry and handle the whole boat.

Specifications:

TAIMEN is a touring folding kayak excellent for family and/or group weekend trips as well as long haul trips on lakes and rivers with flat water.  It is also suitable for white water trips up to Category III.This kayak can accommodate up to 3 adults with room enough to carry cargo for a trip of several weeks, and is available in two models “TAIMEN-2” and “TAIMEN-3”.

Frame:  All parts of the frame are made from high strength duraluminium (an alloy of aluminium, copper, magnesium and manganese), which makes it extremely durable and light. 
Hull and Deck: Hull is made of durable impregnated rubber fabric, reinforced with thick rubber stripes on bow and stern.  Deck is made of canvas, stitched and glued to the hull.
Seats:  TAIMEN comes with 2 or 3 plywood seats.
