News from Mid-Canada Fiberglass

Since 1998 Formula Kayaks has built a reputation for quality composite kayaks built in Canada. The brand flourished and in a short time become a recognized leader in customer satisfaction and performance.

While this was happening in Canada the same basic kayaks where being sold in the US under the Impex brand. Impex and Formula (both Mid-Canada Fiberglass products) grew rapidly in their given markets, selling large numbers of boats through some of the best shops in Canada and the US.

In August 2004 Mid-Canada Fiberglass merged both brands under the Impex name. The best characteristics of the Canadian and US products have been combined and now Impex Kayaks represents the best we have to offer Worldwide.

We would like to thank all of those who have helped to build the Formula and Impex brands. The group of paddlers taking Impex into the future is much like you, passionate about kayaking.

Formula

Formula Kayaks are constructed of E Glass and Diolen cloth which are high quality composite materials used to achieve maximum strength to weight ratios.
All Formula Kayaks are also available in a Carbon/Kevlar laminate. This combination of superior quality materials offers a hull weight reduction of approximately 8-10 pounds.
Formula Carbon/Kevlar Kayaks are the most economically priced in today's marketplace.

We offer the folding kayak “TAIMEN”. Being one of the most popular folding boats among Russian kayak fans, it is produced in Russia by the Moscow military plant “SALUT”, which has 30 years of experience in kayak making.
